The Scottish Soldier

The Scottish Soldier is a film version of a stage play performed at Welney Wetland Centre in June 2019 that formed part of a project called Origins funded by the National Lottery Fund. Origins researched and told the story of Scottish prisoners of war who were transferred to the Fens in 1651 to work on drainage projects funded and managed by the Company of Adventurers, notably the Hundred Foot River than runs from Earith to Denver. The film was shot over a period of three days in the autumn on 2019 and spring of 2020.
